In this year long course, students strengthen their reading, writing, and speaking skills.  They do this while learning U.S. Governement.  They will understand the three branches of government, the election process, and the US Constitution.  

In addition, students will learn the value of citizen participation in a democracy.  Upon successful completion of the course students get a credit in American Government and Economics.

This year 2007-2008, this course in collaboratively taught by an ELL teacher and a  licensed social studies teacher, Mr. Osborne, who is also our soccer coach. In addition to learning Government, students will study Economics during the second half of the year.  Upon sussessful completion, they will get a credit in Economics.
